An overview of the corporation, materials dispensed and industries served, the eight metering principles, the process of choosing the right dispensing equipment, product manufacturing process, turnkey robot integration and sign-off, product quality and warranty, technical service.
This two-station automated meter-mix dispense system is engineered to bond various size filter elements to metal end caps in this manual load and unload system which includes a U-shaped curing conveyor. The 6-axis robot dispenses slow-cure urethane onto many different size parts.
FILTER END CAP MOLDING: HIGH SPEED DISPENSING LINE (Servo-Flo 608)
Four meter mix dispensing systems simultaneously dispense fast-cure urethane every 3 seconds into filter end cap molds. Filter elements are then placed in the mixed liquid urethane and begins curing. Then, the cap/element is de-molded, flipped and placed in the next end cap mold.
An appliance door is loaded into the fixture, slid into the robot dispense station, the operator starts dispense and the robot dispenses a bead of 2-part adhesive onto the metal surface. The part is slid back and glass is placed on the adhesive. Improves quality and increases production rate.
Appliance parts are manually loaded onto fixtures and slid into the 2-part adhesive dispensing cell. The robot dispenses in first-in-first-out sequence to ensure fast cycle times. Fixture sensors indicate the part type to select the right bead path program and dispensing flow rate program.
An electronic emissions module is placed in a rack then potted with a 4:1 ratio by volume 2-part polyurethane. Part A and B materials are pumped at low-pressure to the Servo-Flo 105 variable ratio shot meter. The materials are precision metered, mixed and dispensed for air-free potting.
This electronic module is sealed using a 1-component silicone with a Sealant Equipment & Engineering Servo-Flo Gear Meter dispensing system. The Servo-Flo Gear Meter is integrated with the 6-axis robot and the 2200-727 series Snuf-Bak dispense valve dispenses the silicone with a needle nozzle. First the connector side is sealed. Then the part is flipped and the cover side is sealed.
The camera is mounted below the electronic module looking up through a clear plastic housing made for quality verification. The 2-component potting material is dispensed through the top of the module forcing material through the unit to begin bottom filling to ensure no air is trapped in the module. The 2-component mix and dispense valve is mounted to a movable arm assembly.
The 2-component dispense valve is mounted to an X-Y-Z Motion Table and applies a fast cure potting material in 3 steps for potting electronic components held in a tray. The Sealant Equipment See-Flo 690 meter mix dispense system provides the required flow rate with no stringing or drips.
The 2-component dispense valve is robot mounted and applies a fast cure adhesive on the support frame of a basketball backboard. The Sealant Equipment meter system provides a constant flow rate at high speed with no stringing or drips.
SHEET MARBLE: 2-COMPONENT COATING PROCESS (See-Flo 7)
The Sealant Equipment & Engineering 2-Part Meter Mix Dispense system continuously applies a 2-component coating on Italian marble with a No-Drip™ 2-component valve mounted on an X-axis reciprocator prior to the mixed material being skived over the surface.
The 2-component (2K) acrylic adhesive is robotically applied with a streaming mix-dispense valve with a precision mixer shroud for precise repeatable alignment of the mixer stream tip. The part bead-path programming and system sign-off is performed at Sealant Equipment prior to shipment to the line builder.
1K HEM FLANGE ADHESIVE AND ANTI-FLUTTER STITCHING: PANEL (P-A-B 3)
First, the robot applies a 1-Part hem flange adhesive with a Sealant Equipment & Engineering 2200-245 KISS™ Streaming Dispense Valve. Then, the robot applies 84 stitches of an Anti-Flutter mastic with our 2200-245 KISS Tip-Seal™ Dispense Valve. Total dispense time is 31 seconds.
The Servo-Flo 404 positive displacement meter is mounted on the robot wrist and has a KISS No-Drip dispense valve integrated with a vision monitor accessory. The meter is pump fed and lays a precision bead every time. The vision unit monitors bead width and detects bead skips due to air in the material.
The 2-component dispense valve is robot mounted and applies a fast cure over-hem sealant on the perimeter of a automotive door panel after the hem flange operation. The Program-A-Bead 692 fixed-ratio positive displacement meter provides a variable flow rate while maintaining the material ratio.
The 2600-035 Tip-Seal Dispense Valve has an extended tip and applies 23 beads of Anti-Flutter Mastic in 19 seconds. A Program-A-Bead 3 Meter System delivers the exact volume of material to the Tip-Seal Valve. A temperature conditioning system keeps the material at the proper temperature.
LIQUID APPLIED SOUND DEADENER: VEHICLE INTERIOR
(IPS and MSA)
The Multi-Stream Applicator (MSA) Valve, patented technology from Sealant Equipment & Engineering, applies a wide stream pattern of water-borne LASD material to the interior of a vehicle in the paint shop. The valve is also available in a two-valve applicator for narrow or wide patterns. A dual Integrated Pneumatic System delivers the material to the MSA Valve.
